The location is great, just a five-minute walk from the city centre. At first the room looked tidy, but after settling in we spotted lots of dust under the bed and on top of the cabinets. Worst of all, one of the cooking pots had rust inside, which I found unacceptable. Given how much the stay cost, it's an okay place apart from that.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, even better than a Premier Inn bed, and room 31 at the back on the second floor was quiet, clean and modern. The city centre location worked really well. Getting in with the passcode was fine, but pulling the key from the letterbox was awkward because the lock was at a strange angle and the light was poor. There’s no ventilation, so the fan didn’t help much during the hot nights at the end of July, and it was noisy while we tried to sleep. A blind by the door let in some light from the skylight just outside. We arrived by train: it’s about a 15-minute walk from Central, or 5-10 minutes from Queen Street. There’s also a car park. We’d definitely stay again.

We needed somewhere close to central Cardiff, and this was just right: close to town but quiet in the evening. The bed was very comfortable, everything was spotless, and the place felt modern. We booked at short notice and didn’t get the entry instructions email in time, so we had to ask for help. Once we did, someone responded straight away and sorted it out without any trouble.

I was visiting a friend at the uni, and this place was just what I needed. It’s right in the middle of the city, customer service was friendly, and the weekend price was great compared with the other options.

The location was the one good thing. We’d booked a studio apartment, but it was unbearably hot as soon as we went in, so we tried to spend as little time there as possible and resorted to cold showers. We asked for another fan because the heat kept us awake. The one they brought had hardly any power and was basically useless. There’s no ventilation anywhere in the hotel, and it smelled of food, made worse by the heat. We also found a stain on the bedsheet and used cups in the cupboard that hadn’t been cleaned.
