We were in Carlisle for a nearby wedding and chose Rosalind House for a three-night weekend stay. The Tyan room was the biggest, so it gave us extra space. It had a very comfortable bed and a large walk-in shower, plus big opening windows in both the bathroom and bedroom. Breakfasts were great. Julie and her husband were wonderful hosts, happy to suggest things to do and places to eat in a city we’d never visited. We liked the location near the city centre and could park on a nearby street using a permit from the guest house. I’d book here again if we return to Carlisle.

A fantastic night’s stay while walking Hadrian’s Wall. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing.

The hosts were friendly and helpful, and shared lots about Cumbrian culture. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the food was fantastic. It’s a comfortable, clean place to stay when visiting Carlisle, just a short walk from the city centre and close to restaurants. Highly recommend!

Julie made us feel so welcome, and the rooms are fantastic, with lovely thoughtful touches. Her homemade jam and scones at breakfast were amazing. It’s right in the centre, and I really didn’t want to leave. A delightful place to stay, 10/10, highly recommend this B&B.

Julie was a great host at this lovely little guesthouse. Our room had an ensuite bathroom, TV, kettle, fresh milk in the fridge, and tea and hot chocolate for two. We parked on the street opposite, in a side street. The heating went off, so the bedroom and bathroom were a bit cold during the night and in the morning. A small heater was provided, but by then we were just about to leave. We also struggled to get the shower water warm enough, so instructions on using the hot water would help. It doesn’t stay hot for long either, so if you like a hot shower, keep it quick.
