Pheasant Inn

That was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. Mine had beef, gravy, horseradish and red onion marmalade, and my wife’s turkey, cranberry, stuffing and gravy one was just as good. Both came with fries, purple slaw and a side salad. The staff member at the bar was welcoming and took our food order too. We’d happily come back next time we’re nearby. Thanks for a great lunch.

The birthday meal left everyone feeling upset, annoyed and unwelcome, even though we’d noted the occasion on the booking. I’d tried to reserve lunch online but couldn’t, so booked for around 6.30, thinking that was reasonable when last food orders are usually 7.30 or 8. We were told we were the last table and should get our orders in, and the service felt brusque. It would have helped to simply tell us what was available. Then we overheard that coffee wasn’t available either, which was too much. Some of us needed to eat because of diabetes, so we ordered mains only. A few guests got pudding, and one had cheese and biscuits, but the cheese selection was very poor: four crackers, one broken, and Branston pickle. The whole evening was pretty unacceptable.

The service was excellent, and the food was superb. Proper homemade food, with a great Sunday lunch and an awesome steak suet pudding. Very happy to recommend. We’ll be back.

We had a lovely room with a king-size bed and a nice view, and all the staff were helpful and hardworking. Michael gave us a friendly welcome when we arrived at "The Pheasant Inn" after visiting Ingleton Falls. There was a good choice of ales, and the restaurant food was excellent, especially the best homemade steak and ale pie I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed chatting with a funny, friendly local couple who’d stopped in for an afternoon drink. We’ll stay again when we’re in the area, especially since the nearby lane was called "Colliers Lane".
