Warton is a small village near Carnforth and the M6, and a handy base for exploring the area. We stayed two nights at this very old, historic inn, run by a lovely couple, and found it excellent value. Janet gave us a warm welcome and showed us to a good-sized room with an en suite shower. The bed was very comfortable, and there was tea, coffee and complimentary bottled water. The bar has a good selection of real ales. Evening meals are served, mostly homemade with locally sourced ingredients. The pub food was really good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast is included, with a quality full English, plenty of toast, tea and coffee, plus cereals and orange juice. We look forward to staying again.

After hikes with my club, I've stopped here a few times on the way home. They're always lovely and make our group feel welcome. We send ahead our choices for around 30 meals, then order drinks at the bar when we arrive. It's one of the most efficient group setups I've experienced. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the place is clean and well looked after, and the food and drinks hit the spot.

This comfortable pub was a lovely breath of fresh air, with real hospitality. We had a quiet, cosy room and a great dinner of proper homemade food. Breakfast was eggcelent, and the visit was well worth it.

What a real hidden gem. The room was huge, with a comfy King/Queen bed and an even bigger en suite. It was nicely decorated, with loads of good-quality storage and a new bathroom. The night was surprisingly quiet, and breakfast was fabulous. Tip: I found them through the usual suspects, then booked direct so James & Janet get the full fare.

We stayed for a B&B night to split up a very long journey. It was friendly and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner at the bar, which was tasty and good value. The beer was good too!
