Chale Bay Farm

We were travelling as a couple with our toddler, and the Purbeck View set-up suited us perfectly. The rooms were very comfortable, with fluffy towels, toiletries, biscuits and all those thoughtful extras. There was a lovely big outdoor space and gorgeous, peaceful views too. Everything was clean, well cared for and clearly thought through. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful. An early check-in was no trouble, and their local advice about beaches was great. We were so glad we changed our plans to stay here on our Isle of Wight trip. The family-friendly Wight Mouse pub, with its play area, is an easy walk away.

We found Chale Bay Farm after a lot of searching for the right spot on the Isle of Wight, and booked at short notice. It turned out to be a brilliant find. The property was good value, quiet, easy to locate, well equipped and had fantastic views. The dinosaur landmark out front makes it clear you've arrived. We stayed in The Needles apartment. It was so well set up for self-catering that it felt like home, and the patio was a lovely peaceful place to sit in the sunshine. The bed was so comfortable we slept like logs. Everything seemed new, worked properly and was finished to a high standard. Steve welcomed us, and using the keysafe for check-in and check-out was easy. Walkers can reach lovely parts of the island via the coastal paths, including the Needles, Tennyson Downs and monument. I'd happily recommend it, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

For my 40th, my husband booked us two nights at a place on the island we love and have visited many times. It was our first stay here. The views are spectacular, and the outdoor areas are beautiful and very well maintained. You can see the effort that goes into looking after them. We had Catherine's View, a spacious cottage with good amenities, including a coffee maker, milk in the fridge and nice bathroom products. It was well presented and mostly clean. There was one significant issue, but it was dealt with quickly, which was good. We'd spent more than we usually do for a couple of nights on the island. With COVID and the rising cost of living, I suppose that may just be how things are now.

We've been back to Chale Bay Farm for a second visit, and Steve and Charlotte were amazing hosts again. The accommodation and facilities are great, and it's in the best part of the island. Book with them directly for a 10% loyalty discount on repeat stays.
