I had to leave my room and sit in the car to get enough phone signal to work on my laptop. The signal was poor inside, although just outside the room I could get one bar. I'm with ID Mobile, which I know isn't the best, but I've never needed to leave a hotel room to work before. The room was bare basics, with no sockets by the bed and no desk lamp, so it felt dark and dingy, almost like a one-star place. Premier Inns are generally three-star at best, but this one was dire. Breakfast was disappointing too. There's no buffet, just a sit-down system where you order and wait. I get up early for work and didn't have time to hang around, especially with Manchester traffic. Only one staff member was taking orders and serving, and couldn't keep up. Premier Inn usually does a proper buffet breakfast well, but not here. Two stars feels generous.

The rooms were basic and like a sauna, but clean enough for our overnight stay and early checkout. This was a familiar hotel for us when flying from Manchester, and we checked in with family at 5pm on a Tuesday. It was the hottest day of the year, and my two children were tired and badly needed the toilet. We had to wait 30 minutes with no staff available, despite ringing the bell, calling, knocking loudly, and walking around the hotel several times after another guest let us in. Eventually a woman from a back office came out and said she'd been asleep. There wasn't even an apology or any sign of remorse. About 10 guests were waiting by the time we got checked in. This raised serious safety and security concerns. You get what you pay for, but the staff should at least be awake. I won't use PI Cheadle again.

It was quiet all night, and the room was clean and prepared when we arrived. Breakfast was really good, which isn't always guaranteed. The service was friendly and smiling. For a Premier Inn, it met expectations well, and I'd stay here again. It's also easy to get to places around south Manchester, which suited my visit to the O2 Apollo.

The rooms were okay, but the service was the worst I've had at a Premier Inn, and the price wasn't justified. When I asked simple things, like whether there was a refillable water station or if the bathroom sink water was drinkable, receptionist “Charlie” kept muttering in a patronising tone that he didn't know. The receptionist at check-in was blunt and rude as well. There was a helpful female receptionist during our stay who politely agreed to bring up an iron, but forgot, leaving us waiting more than 30 minutes. There were no plug sockets beside the beds either. I've stayed at many other Premier Inns, and this was by far the worst service and value for money.

It was impressively quiet despite being close to the airport. The staff were absolutely fantastic: Beth, Alex, and the housekeeping team were friendly, helpful, and very professional. But the room was mouldy, and opening the window didn't improve things. This needs immediate attention, and I won't stay here again.
