We’d happily come back. The room was fantastic, breakfast was lovely, and our host was great. It’s a beautiful spot on a working farm, with lovely views over the countryside.

The hike to Scafell Pike was a great reason to stay here, and the property itself is so unique and beautiful. We got in late and left early to reach the summit for sunrise, so Claire packed us brunch to take up the mountain. Those snacks were very welcome after the climb, and made the trip feel special. She really went above and beyond. The only shame was that it was dark when we arrived and when we left, so we didn’t get to see the sheep!

Rainors farm is a working farm, and the owners are wonderful, with loads of knowledge about the area. Breakfast was great too. Scafell Pike car park is just six miles away, with lovely views along the drive. The Lamb and Lion pub is only three minutes away, and the portions are huge while the prices are cheap.

The yurt by the stream was immaculate, with all the essentials and some nice little extras. The shower was clean and lovely too. Claire, the owner, was so kind and helpful. It was my friend’s birthday, and she even left a bottle of wine for us. We asked on the spur of the moment about breakfast at 10 the next day and a late checkout, and both were no problem. Breakfast was incredible, with toast, juice, fresh fruit, cherries and plenty more, followed by a beautifully cooked English breakfast using locally sourced produce. It was £12 per person. There were four of us, and we had a fab stay. Can’t wait to come back. Fabulous.

The bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in, which is saying something because I often struggle to sleep anywhere but my own bed. We had all the amenities we needed by the stream in the yurt. Such a peaceful, perfect birthday getaway 🎂, and a great base for a trip to Scafell Pike.
