Broccoli Bottom

After booking at the last minute to escape a horrible hotel, we found this little bit of paradise. The room was lovely, with a big, comfortable bed, and the surroundings felt really relaxed. It’s well placed for Oakham, Rutland Water and the other beautiful spots around Rutland. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights in the Mange Tout apartment, which worked perfectly for our family of four. There are two bedrooms, a sweet little outdoor area, lovely views and comfortable beds. We had a lovely meal at the local Horse & Jockey, then enjoyed two excellent breakfasts in Oakham at The Larder and The Hungry Birds. We finished with a day in Stamford, lunch in the coutyard of The George and Rutland Aqua Park. A fab couple of days, thank you.

The bed was so comfortable that, even at six months pregnant, I slept brilliantly and didn’t want to get up in the morning. We had a lovely B&B weekend at Broccoli Bottom, with a warm welcome and a room that really impressed us. Breakfast was fantastic too. The location is great, with a pub nearby. We hope to return next year.

We keep coming back because we love this place. The accommodation is beautiful, in a quiet, lovely setting within walking distance of a local pub and just off the Rutland water cycle path. The owner is friendly and efficient. A few small decor touch-ups are needed, but we’ll definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
