We came back for a second visit after enjoying the first so much. A lovely garden and a peaceful spot set back from the road made it feel like a little gem. The family made us feel very welcome, and the accommodation was lovely.

The garden and views are stunning, including the two views from our bedroom windows. We spent five nights at Manton Lodge, where the accommodation was so comfortable it felt like a home away from home. Hugh was very helpful and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay.

There are five market towns a short drive away, two less than five minutes from the property, so there’s plenty of choice if you fancy shopping. For walks, you can find a different route each time, with lovely gardens and special countryside views at Manton Lodge Farm. Both apartments are clean, very comfortable and well equipped, and the hosts gave us a warm welcome and looked after us well.

There are some good walks nearby, and the garden is lovely. Manton Lodge has a lot of character and lovely views. Emma and Hugh were friendly and helpful throughout.

Rutland Water and the villages around it are well worth a visit, especially Hambleton, and the bluebells are impressive. We found the cottage a lovely place to spend time, with sheep, birds and horses making a restful soundtrack. The facilities were excellent, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. There’s plenty of parking, and the garden and terrace are welcoming. I’d highly recommend it.
