Bath Arms Hotel

We ended up eating all our meals here because the staff booked us in just in case, and that worked out really well. The food was great and deserved its Google review stars. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and the service was very good. Our room was comfortable, though the bed was too soft for me. Being in a historic area means there's no double glazing, but the noise died down around 11 or 11:30 pm. I'm a light sleeper and slept right through.

The food and cider were excellent, and the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The place is dog friendly too. We came because they had very good food for my coeliac and vegetarian wife. We'll come back with friends and family. Highly recommended if you're nearby or passing through.

The staff go out of their way to help with anything you need, and the service is excellent. Our room was spacious and clean, with a good-sized bathroom, central heating and plenty of hot water for a bath. The food is generally good as well. It makes a very good base for visiting the Gorge or nearby Wells.

As someone who drinks ale, I found the choice limited to the usual few options from the local brewery. Still, the friendly staff and cosy fires made up for that. I visited twice with family for drinks and loved the bar. It has a homely, comfortable feel, never got too loud, and draws an eclectic mix of people. With the log burners kept topped up, it's a perfect spot on a winter's day.
