Central Serviced Apartments

I was there for two nights, and the central location was handy, just a few minutes from major shops and places to eat. My room was an adequate size, with hangers and enough space for my things. The microwave and fridge made dealing with food easier. There were plates and cutlery too, but they looked as if they hadn't been washed properly, so I didn't use them. Staff were friendly enough, and check-in and checkout were polite. Housekeeping came, but didn't make my bed, and replaced bathroom towels I would have been happy to use again on such a short stay. The place looks a bit worn and isn't somewhere I'd suggest for a luxury experience or a particularly pleasant stay. A good clean and a room makeover would help. Still, it works for a very short visit if being near Cheltenham Town centre is what you need.

For a one-night stay in March, it was fine, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet Room 17 at the back was. Staff were pleasant and the room, though a bit tired, was clean. A fridge and microwave let me sort out some breakfast since the hotel doesn't serve any. The TV signal wasn't good enough for BBC. It was race week, so the price was high, and the hotel had been booked for me by my company. At check-in, one person was throwing up at the back of the hotel. The ID process and £100 pre-authorization seemed odd, as I don't normally get asked for that at other hotels. With limited opening windows and no air conditioning, I wouldn't want to stay there in summer. It wouldn't be my first choice next time, but I have no major complaints.

It's centrally located in Cheltenham, and that's about the only good thing I can say. We had to pay extra despite apparently having paid in full, and the security deposit wording was bizarre. When we arrived, the house was run-down and dirty, despite being described as three-star. Customer care didn't seem to be a priority for the company. The room smelled of smoke and drains. There was damaged wallpaper and paint, dirty threadbare carpet, and furniture fit for a bonfire. I wouldn't recommend it.

The bed was so comfortable, and the room was clean. Staff were friendly and the location was great. I slept like a brick and would happily come back. The shower in room 17 did drain slowly, though.
