Crown Hotel

We joined the busy Thursday quiz and had a lot of fun, despite playing badly. The beer garden is lovely, with mature trees and both covered and open seating, and there's ample parking in a gated yard behind the pub. We stayed three nights and couldn't fault the rooms, bar, food or staff. Our room and bed were huge, the TV was large, and there was a tea and coffee tray. The toilet and shower room was clean. We ate in the restaurant twice: the varied menu was well explained, and the food was excellent quality and value. The bar has a good selection of beer, cider and spirits. I especially liked Youngs Original in a proper pint pot. Would we come back? Absolutely.

The overnight stay worked perfectly, with a lovely room and a great breakfast, and the location was convenient for an early drop-off at Longcross. I had to wait around the next day while my daughter was at Longcross Studios until 4pm, so I tried the 'work from pub' option. For £15 I got bottomless tea and coffee and a sandwich from the menu, which was amazing. It was a good deal, and I got plenty of work done in a relaxed, comfortable setting. I only wish I could have had a few beers and enjoyed the place that way too. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We were so impressed that we're considering a family break after Christmas to explore the area for a couple of days and have a few drinks this time. Thanks for a great experience.

We stayed two nights in room 49, our first time here after usually choosing The Bridge Hotel, also part of Youngs. The room was massive and comfortable, very clean, with a big bed, tea and coffee facilities, a great large shower and good-quality toiletries. Breakfast both mornings had lots of choice, including cooked options, cereals and pastries. There was plenty of coffee, which I appreciated since other hotels sometimes allow only one cup. The hotel is right in the town centre, with what you need close by and the motorway not too far away. Jack was very pleasant and made sure we had everything. The young woman with long dark hair at reception when we arrived Friday 28th Nov was also friendly and helpful. Sorry I didn't get her name. Everyone we met was happy to help. We'll stay again next time we're visiting friends. Thank you.

The hot, powerful shower and the choice of bathroom products were a nice touch, and we both slept well, although the bed was a little hard for my taste. Our spacious room 48 was warm and clean for our one-night family gathering. We'd booked dinner, bed and breakfast, and had a lovely three-course meal with several drinks within the £30 allowance per person. Serena was friendly and attentive at dinner and welcomed us again at breakfast. There was a great selection of pastries and continental items, with good coffee and orange juice. My husband had the full cooked breakfast and I chose the eggs Florentine. They were the best I've ever tasted. Everything was hot and delicious, and we can't wait to come back. Thank you, Serena.
