The staff were rushed off their feet, but still so polite. My partner ordered the cheese and onion pie, which came with lots of veg and lovely homemade chips. I had the award winning fish and chips, with a side of curry, and it was delicious, the best I’ve had. I love coming here whenever we visit Chester and can’t understand some of the bad reviews. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu.

The food was very good across the table, with generous portions of proper hearty pub dishes. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, and the service stayed friendly, smooth, and well organised. We had booked for 13 at Ye Olde Kings Head in Chester, where the warm welcome started as soon as we arrived. The staff made sure we were comfortable and looked after, without leaving us waiting. The pub’s history comes through in its lovely timber beams and old fashioned charm, and the fire made the setting feel warm and inviting. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time. The bar staff were friendly, chatty, and welcoming, the drinks were well priced, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced too. The pub had all the right vibes, and Harry even gave us an impromptu ghost tour. Harry the owning was insightful and authentic. It’s a must for anyone after an alternative experience or ghost hunting. I’d 100% recommend it and visit again. Thanks for an amazing experience.

We stopped in for lunch, and the food was really tasty. The pub is beautiful inside, and the bar service was lovely and polite. It can get pretty busy, so be prepared for that. The toilets are quite old and could use some attention.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent with good-sized portions, and the prices weren’t too bad. We didn’t stay overnight, just stopped for a drink and a meal at the most haunted pub in Cheshire. Well worth a visit.
