Breakfast was a feast, with cereals including gluten-free options, fresh orange juice, filtered coffee and tea. The full English is a must, especially David's scrambled eggs, with plenty of toast and jam or marmalade. You won't need lunch! The cottage has such a calm, historic feel. Mandie and David welcomed us with tea and cake, then showed us our lovely suite. The bedroom was warm and comfortable, with crisp white linen and a quilt that suited the room. An adjoining room had tea and coffee supplies and biscuits, plus a fridge for fresh milk. Still and sparkling water were there too. The bathroom was beautifully done, with fluffy white towels, and the attention to detail was amazing. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. David and Mandie really know how to make a holiday lovely. We can't recommend Nightingale Cottage highly enough. Thank you both, Caroline and Allan.

Breakfast had cereals, a full fried breakfast, and toast with honey or marmalade, enough to keep us going most of the day. Our accommodation was clean and well cared for, and the bed was comfortable with clean white linen. Mandie and David gave us a warm welcome, and made the stay so pleasant. We hope to return to this lovely retreat, both for a break and to see them again. Reg and Jill

After almost 40 years, this was our first holiday visit to the area, and what a pleasure to find this gem. The B&B is in a delightful village, with beautifully furnished accommodation, delicious breakfasts and warm, friendly hosts. Thank you both :-)

The historic building is beautiful, the rooms are to a very high standard, and the whole place has a lovely calm feel. It's very close to Boxgrove Priory, one of the country's most beautiful churches. I've never had such a caring welcome, with so much attentiveness to the guest. Superb!

We were here for two nights for a wedding and definitely had the best accommodation in the village. Highly recommended.
