We came for a weekend away with our son a few months after he was born. The lodges were clean and had enough cooking utensils for a weekend, and the staff were friendly and happy to suggest local pubs and outings. One thing to be aware of is that getting your deposit back can take a while depending on the booking agent. The staff at Bluewood were really helpful sorting it out for us.

Lodge 6 was spacious, with a super-comfy bed, two bedrooms and an ensuite, plus a lovely relaxing hot tub. There was plenty of wildlife around, and the dogs were especially well catered for, with their own comfy beds, blankets, towels and bowls on arrival. The lodge had everything ready, including tea, coffee, sugar, milk sachets, shampoo, soap, towels, washing-up liquid, a tea towel and a dishwasher tablet, along with a hairdryer and toilet roll. It's a quiet site and a handy base for exploring the Cotswolds, with villages, shops and pubs about a 10-minute drive away. There are art galleries, garden centres, antique shops, quaint shops, pubs and restaurants, bakeries and takeaways, and I was impressed that many places were open on most days in January, including the bird park, motor museum, manors, gardens, falconry and model village. The information folder lists shops and days out. There was milk, coffee, tea bags, sugar, shampoo, soap and towels waiting for us too. Food service all day was hard to find, though, as pub meals were usually served from 12 to 2 or 6:30 to 9. I'm fussy and like my evening meal by 5.

We've been here four or five times and love the place. The lodges are clean, well equipped and have everything you'd need, plus more. The hot tub is always a bonus, and everyone is friendly and helpful. It's also nice to see the neighbours' lovely cat 😺. We'll definitely come back. Thank you!

I've stayed twice, and both visits were great. The lodges are clean, have parking on site, and are dog friendly with all the amenities you'd need for self-catering. There's nothing on site, which I actually like because it keeps me in my lodge. For dog walks, go out of the end of the driveway and straight across the road, where there's a huge, clearly signposted walk. The reception area is being refitted, and it looks like they're investing in keeping the place nice. I'll definitely be back.

The surroundings are lovely, and the lodge was clean and very well presented, with pretty much everything we needed. We stayed in Cupid 19. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were super friendly. We walked about 20 minutes to Kingham train station, then went to Moreton in Marsh for market day and spent a day in Oxford. It was our first visit, but definitely not our last. We're already thinking about coming back!
