The Kingham Plough

We'd hoped to come back the next day, but ran out of time. Dinner was one of the highlights of our trip: authentic, flavourful food in generous portions. Though it was packed on Friday night, we were seated promptly and the service was quick and friendly. Definitely recommend the restaurant.

After a Cotswolds tour, I was so glad I ended up at The Kingham Plough. I found it through a Google search and it absolutely lived up to the choice. The service was outstanding from start to finish. My friend and I loved dinner, especially the pork belly starter and steak with peppercorn sauce. They're still on my mind! The crème brûlée was seriously tempting too. Afterwards we had a comfortable evening in the room, which was cosy and had a comfortable bed. I wish I could go back tomorrow. Huge thanks to the staff for going out of their way to accommodate us. I'd highly recommend both dinner and a stay.

The food and service are outstanding. The menu's worth exploring: whitebait and pork belly for starters, then wood-fired cod, butternut squash for a vegetarian main, fish and chips, or the smaller halibut dish. They were all excellent, and the chips with the fish and chips are delicious. It's a warm, welcoming village pub with a log fire and smiling staff. There's a good range of quality beers and a very good wine list. Highly recommended, whether you're travelling to visit or just passing through.

A lovely village with great walking and biking nearby. I arrived by bike, and they kindly put it somewhere secure for me. I stayed one night midweek and really enjoyed it. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, with clearly good-quality ingredients, and the service at both meals was attentive without fuss.
