Popped in on Friday night and found a spacious pub with a nice atmosphere, friendly bar staff and customers, and it's dog friendly too. They had the Winter Olympics on the big TV, and a band arrived around 8pm and started setting up, though I left before they played. I had a tasty cider and a fresh stone-baked pizza from the kitchen, both good. Drinks were pricey, but that seems in line with the area. I'd visit again.

It used to feel like one of the friendliest local pubs, somewhere warm and welcoming that you looked forward to visiting. Since Barry became the new manager, though, the atmosphere has changed for the worse. It feels cold and uncomfortable now, the staff seem tense and less approachable, and customer service has slipped noticeably. It also feels as though regulars aren't valued as they once were, and the place is run very differently from before. It's disappointing to see a once-great local spot lose its charm. I hope things improve, but right now I wouldn't hurry back. If you can, go to another pub within a 10-mile radius instead.

The pub had a friendly feel and a good choice of drinks. On the Friday we stayed, they were serving freshly made pizzas, and honestly, they were the best I've had in years, nothing like the usual fast food. The old building was lovely, the staff were lovely too, and our clean, comfortable room had a nice range of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Great value for the price. Thanks, Kings Arms. We'll definitely return.

The pub used to feel like part of the local community, but several regulars have now been barred and that atmosphere has suffered. Since the new manager arrived, service has been consistently dismissive and unfriendly. I've been coming here for years, so it's disappointing to see it go downhill.

We felt out of place from the moment we arrived. Three men were standing in the entrance smoking and seemed to be deliberately blocking people from getting in, which was strange. Inside, nobody was friendly or even offered a small smile. I'm usually easygoing and not particular about pub standards or cleanliness, but the hospitality here was zero. There are much better pubs if you walk another five minutes into the town centre, where there are plenty of options. Good luck to them, but I definitely won't be back.
