Dogs are more than welcome here, and the atmosphere was lively and friendly. The Landlady greeted us at the door and made us feel incredibly welcome. We had a lovely family evening at the Duke. The food was excellent quality, sensibly priced, and a nice change from the usual traditional pub grub. Highly recommend.

We felt very welcome, and the pub lunch was excellent. The chips were especially good, crisp outside and hot and soft inside, and the burgers and scampi were very tasty too. It’s a friendly place to stop after a walk. The building’s exterior looks a little tired, but don’t let that put you off. Dogs are welcome with permission. We’re looking forward to coming back.

Hattie was sympathetic and kept us updated throughout. Her enthusiasm, support and professionalism were exemplary, and she did a superb job managing everything. We held a funeral celebration for 45 people and had the whole pub. There was a private dining area with cosy wood burners, a memorial photo table, and free use of a projector screen, which was a lovely bonus. The cold buffet was excellent and plentiful, with tea and coffee as well. We had an open bar. We couldn’t have asked for it to go better. Highly recommended, and thank you.

The garden and play area are fantastic for families, and the service was very friendly. We had a lovely Sunday lunch outdoors with the family. There’s a good range of classic pub food and Turkish specialities. It’s a great pub in a small, attractive Kent village, with the village green just opposite.

From our first message to arrange the wake, the service was great. The staff welcomed us warmly, treated us with respect and even lit the lovely log burner. The food was lovely, with separate plates for the vegetarian options. They also kindly put a slideshow of our loved one on the screen for us. We were very impressed with the wake at the Duke of Cumberland in Barham today.
