Bank Farm House

The room was spotless, with a really comfortable king bed and its own bathroom and TV. My partner especially appreciated the hot chocolate alongside the full tea and coffee setup. Carole was wonderfully attentive, and the cooked breakfast was superb. We had an amazing stay.

That lift back to the trail was such a kindness. I’d set off for Welshpool after a great home-cooked breakfast, lovely coffee, and a good chat with Carole. She knows the area well and was a natural host. I’d arrived tired late on Sunday, 2nd April 2023, after a hilly 28km walk from Knighton, and was struggling to find somewhere for the night. A Google search turned up Bank Farm House, a few miles from where I was in Montgomery, and Carole agreed to take me for B+B after a quick call, even at short notice. I was lucky she did. The place is lovely and peaceful, around 1.5 miles from the Offas Dyke path. My ensuite room was just right, and the bed was very comfortable. It was excellent value and well worth the short detour from the Offas Dyke Trail. I’d happily visit again if I’m nearby.

The garden feels like a little wonderland, with art and sculptures to spot all around. This old farmhouse has been turned into an exquisite, luxurious bed and breakfast, and Carole is the most welcoming host. Stunning, absolutely stunning.

We stayed in both the cottage and a double room, and loved them both. Everything was cosy, clean, and tidy, and Carole was lovely and provided what we needed. There are some brilliant walking routes close by, too.
