Moda House

Room One was beautifully furnished, and the bed and pillows were probably the most comfortable I’ve had in years. The en-suite was excellent too, with a powerful shower that made a great start to the morning. Downstairs, the breakfast room was a delight. The table is stunning and unique, and Jo and Duncan have left a short history of it that’s well worth reading. I had the cooked breakfast, which was excellent, and the coffee was superb. The building itself is lovely, and Jo and her husband Duncan gave me such a warm welcome. You can see how much they care about the house and their guests. A friend who regularly stays for work had recommended The Moda House, and I can see why. My only regret was having just one night. I’ll stay there again next time I’m in the area. The central location also makes it easy to find somewhere to eat or have a drink. The room’s information folder lists plenty of options. The Horseshoe is right opposite, with seven real ales and lots of awards for them. I can see why. My friend had also suggested the Tudor Raj, and the Indian food there was very good. There are several other restaurants too, with a range of tastes catered for. Thanks again, Jo and Duncan, for a memorable stay.

I was made to feel very welcome, even by the dog, on my one-night work trip. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillows, and I slept well. It’s a beautiful, relaxing place, and the courtyard gets the evening sun. Breakfast was great too, with perfect poached eggs.

The rooms are exquisite, with lovely decor and real attention to detail. Jo and Duncan are wonderfully welcoming. It’s a gem in beautiful Chipping Sodbury, right at the top of the wide main street, with pubs and restaurants nearby. Well worth a stay for a romantic break, a visit to Chipping Sodbury, or a chance to explore the Cotswold Way.

My single room at Moda House was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was delicious. Chipping Sodbury is a lovely town to walk around. I’d recommend strolling to the local butcher and markets. I was looking for somewhere to stay in the area and booked here, and I have no hesitation in giving Moda House five stars.
