I slept brilliantly both nights in my spotlessly clean, comfortable room. It had been tastefully furnished and decorated, modern but still with an old-world feel, and there was plenty of tea, coffee and milk, plus biscuits and bottled water. I’ve stayed before and was happy to return, and the welcome was friendly again. The staff are helpful, and dinner service was great. A young girl with long brown hair and glasses, whose name I didn’t catch, made sure I was happy with everything. The food is excellent, and the restaurant and bar are really pleasant places to spend time. I can’t praise the Eliot Arms enough. I’ll stay again.

We had an excellent weekend from 13th to 16th February 2026. The old coaching inn has been extended tastefully, and the room was good, though it was up two flights of old stairs. The staff were very attentive and helpful, including arranging flowers on the breakfast table as a birthday surprise for my wife. They took care of it all for me. Excellent.

The pork loin was tasty, cooked really well, and filling. A little more gravy would have been nice, but it didn’t spoil the dish. The Eliot Arms has a welcoming atmosphere, with friendly, attentive staff. There’s parking on site, though spaces are limited, so keep that in mind at busy times. I’d happily come back.

Heidi was very helpful on the phone, and the kitchen manager was great by email. We booked New Year’s Day lunch for 14, including some coeliac and dairy-free guests, and the staff handled those needs with knowledge and care. On the day, our servers were friendly and the food was really good. The 14 meals came out with only small delays between them, and the staff kept us informed and apologised. Based on this experience, we’d all recommend the place without hesitation and would return.

The location is lovely, easy to find, and there are walks nearby. Check-in was straightforward, with a warm welcome from the manager, who showed me the room, the breakfast area and the accommodation’s own front door. The room was clean and tidy, though very hot, so I had to turn off the radiator. They do supply a fan. Breakfast had a good range of cooked food, but the cold selection could have been better. The breakfast staff member wasn’t particularly friendly and seemed in a hurry to take the order.
