The Fleece at Cirencester

The Sunday lunch is, I think, the best around here. The portions are very good and the quality is good too. I have the vegetarian nut roast, which is delicious, and Mum really likes the chicken. The staff are wonderful, kind and so friendly. They really can't do enough for you.

The Fleece has a great location, a professional and friendly team, and delicious food. The menu is inventive, and breakfast is better than at most comparable places. My room was comfortable enough, but the room decor had scuffs and the bathrooms looked dated beside the best ones. Smart TVs for streaming would be a good addition.

We went on a busy Sunday evening and had a great time. The recently changed menu, as the staff explained, offered plenty of choices along with the roasts. I had roast beef, my husband chose sausages, and everything is locally sourced. The service was attentive, the wine and drinks list was great, and the relaxed atmosphere made the meal. We'd definitely come back.

Breakfast was perfick! I was there for two nights for a family wedding. The team were extremely helpful, and the hotel itself is lovely. Everyone said how good the dinner was in the private room the night before the wedding, though service took a little while. My room was comfortable and functional, but it was at the front and got very warm, so I had to leave the windows open and could hear quite a bit of noise. There are lots of steps, which could be difficult if you have mobility issues.
