Wellow Hotel

The housekeeper was fantastic when I stayed earlier this week. She was lovely, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The rooms are basic but very clean, and you can tell they care. Great location, great people here, and it was lovely to visit the pub too.

I stayed for a few nights and the room was great for what I needed. The pub was good too, with super friendly staff. It was great being able to watch the autumn internationals. If I’m heading that way again, I’ll stay here and book again.

For £55 room only, the place is about right for the price. The pub staff were very pleasant, though some of the things I fancied on the menu weren’t available. I ordered a pint of moratti to have outside. It cost £6 and was possibly the most lifeless lager I’ve ever had. Thank goodness the carling was much better.

The staff are lovely, and towels, tea and coffee were refreshed daily. There’s free parking, and the location is handy, with Subway, KFC, McDonald's and an all you can eat Chinese nearby. The children’s play area is opposite and the beach is a five minute walk away. Food was excellent, though it’s a shame they don’t open until 1100. It’s cheap and cheerful, but could do with a revamp. Everything’s worn out and the showers are poor.
