1823 Spinning Block

The room at the spinning block was simple but comfortable, and the shower was really good. It's a great addition to the Holmes Mill enterprise and an ideal spot right in the middle of clitheroe. We stayed for a couple of nights and would absolutely come back.

We came for two nights for a family wedding, and from the moment we arrived the welcome felt warm. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful, especially with local information, and did everything she could for us. I'm sorry we didn't catch her name, but she had beautiful flaming red hair and was very pleasant. Our room was spacious and clean, with a sooo comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and the hotel surroundings have lovely views, with plenty to do and the town right on the doorstep. We'd love to return and explore more. Thank you for a fabulous couple of days.

The hotel staff were fabulous when a party member fell ill and we managed to get a room. Booking.com had cancelled our room a few days earlier without contacting us, and when we called, the hotel was sadly full. After the illness meant we needed somewhere to stay, the staff knew what a stressful morning we'd had, especially with two children, and had our room ready early so we could check in straight away. Suzanne was very helpful with parking and information. The room was noisy because it was above a function room, though it didn't affect us too much. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed the food and breakfast. We'd stay again.

Early one morning, while walking my dog during a visit to family in Clitheroe, I came across a confused lady who seemed lost. I took her to the hotel's reception, where Ali, the night porter, was extremely helpful. When Suzanne came on duty at 7 am, the two of them made us all feel welcome while we waited for someone to take the lady home. That's what community is about. Thank you both for all your help and for making us so welcome.
