The country views and tidy gardens were lovely, and Corrick House has plenty of character, with that old country-house feel instead of a bland look. There were renovations happening during our stay, but management did what they could to limit the disruption. We had a great overnight visit and would come back. The spa was clean and peaceful, with a small pool that's not for swimming, plus a sauna and steam room. We booked ahead at £10 per person, and it never felt crowded like spas at some other hotels. Our superior room was great, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Dinner was tasty and well cooked, and that creamy brie was great. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional. Breakfast had the usual range: fresh fruit, yogurt, overnight oats, cereals, a cooked breakfast, toast and pastries. A few things could make a future stay even better: more shower gel in the bathrooms, decaf coffee or herbal tea on the room trays, and maybe porridge at breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The pool was really cold, though the sauna and steam room were excellent. Spa sessions are booked in one-hour slots, and the outdoor hot tub costs extra. You can book further spa sessions at £20 per person. Our room was spacious and clean, the bar had a relaxed feel, and our room was ready early after we checked in online. The receptionist was nice. Dinner was good, though the £12 scallop starter looked like a single sliced scallop on risotto. Most of the restaurant staff seemed unhappy, including the manager in the Tesco suit. The smaller grey-haired guy was very nice. The restaurant's dated decor felt a bit naff, with things like the switch curtains. Breakfast was okay. We waited 10 minutes for fried eggs and sausages, while the poached eggs I asked for were excellent. It wasn't the worst stay, but there's room to improve. Average.

We had a fun evening for a friend's big birthday, and the welcome was lovely. The room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was very nice too, with a good selection and beautiful coffee. The thermal suite was pitiful, especially with a separate charge for it. The pool was freezing and the sauna was just OK. We left after 20 minutes because it was uncomfortable. Dinner was mixed: my two friends eat meat and couldn't fault their food, but my supposed homemade house curry tasted like sauce from powdered curry mix. Even though we had a pleasant stay, we wouldn't return. The thermal suite was poor, parts of the hotel were run down, and the location is very far out. Thanks for the enjoyable evening all the same.

The room was ready when we arrived, and the layout worked well for a family of five, but it was missing a few facilities. The reception staff were pleasant. We also weren't told about the renovations happening during our stay. That should have been disclosed before arrival or when I booked, especially since we had children. Sleep was the biggest problem. The beds in our room were rock hard, honestly less comfortable than the floor. Three of us didn't sleep at all, and we were exhausted when we left, so we went home to sleep. That's not what we paid for. The door and walls were paper thin too. You could hear a pin drop, and other guests shouting and banging would have kept us awake even with a decent bed. Breakfast was standard, but poor quality. Everything had been left in the heaters too long, and a lot of the bread and hash browns were tough. There were so many issues. I won't return or recommend this hotel.

Corrick House Hotel is in gorgeous countryside and the trip was well worth it, even though it's a little off the beaten track. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. We had a fantastic stay. Thanks to everyone for making it lovely.
