The pub itself could use a bit of TLC, but our room upstairs was much better than we expected. It was beautifully decorated, quirky and clean, and we’d definitely recommend staying. Breakfast was a selection of cold items, and perfectly enjoyable. A lovely little gem above an old pub.

The Saturday brought an unexpected Thai food trunk and a band, and we had a great time, got completely “Woolpacked” haha. Harriet the landlady was so welcoming, and Sharize the barmaid was a right laugh who kept us entertained. The staff made us feel at home in this lovely historic pub. We had a wonderful stay at The Woolpack Inn. Our room was clean, comfortable and lovely, with a mini fridge and breakfast hamper as nice touches. The shower was big, hot and clean. We’ll definitely be back.

My group’s night out was ruined by the landlady, who seemed intoxicated and targeted us for no reason. She physically grabbed our drinks and dumped them on the ground. Her manner was rude, hostile and completely unprofessional. The bartender and her husband were dismissive when we tried to address it. They essentially said she could do whatever she wanted because she was the landlord. Owning the place doesn’t excuse mistreating customers or wasting their money. The atmosphere felt unsafe and unwelcoming, so we left straight away. A total waste of money and a really upsetting experience. I’m writing this to warn others considering a night out here.

My friends and I were shouted at, abused and kicked out, despite doing absolutely nothing. The landlady was drunk and pregnant. Once we’d got fresh drinks, the bar staff waited and then snatched them from our hands. They excused her behaviour by saying she was the manager. There’s also a huge dog roaming around that has reportedly attacked numerous dogs before. Absolutely appalling pub, avoid it at all costs.
