We called just ten minutes ahead to ask for coffee for 18 people. By the time we arrived, the waitress had set up the Library with cups, pots and biscuits. Really lovely service, and a nice setting too.

I’ve stayed here plenty of times over the years, so this was a shock. The new owner’s attitude toward my party felt aggressive, with F bombs being dropped in front of the female staff. We paid quickly and left. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.

The owner was friendly when I popped in for a drink, and the ale on draft was nice. The menu looked good, so I went back to eat and had a great meal. It was busy, but Hannah behind the bar was great. Highly recommended.

We all ordered the fish and chips for lunch yesterday, and it was spot on. The haddock was cooked just right under crisp batter, the chips were great, and it came with lovely homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas. The portions were huge. The bar area welcomes dogs, and all the staff were warm and welcoming. Well recommended!

We loved this pub and will definitely come back when we can. It had that holiday pub feel, with a welcoming atmosphere day and night, country-style decor and a tasteful beer garden with real plants and gardens to look at. The menu is small but carefully chosen, and we recommend the steak and belly pork. Children and dogs were made very welcome. The staff were all great, professional, friendly and helpful. Nothing to fault, even the nice Molton Brown soap. Owner Dave is legendary, his banter is hilarious!
