The Lodge

Of all the contestants we’ve seen during the time this programme has been on, this couple stand out as among the most generous, genuine, giving and honest. Their scores and payments to the other B&B contestants were fair, measured and precise. Their integrity seems unquestionable, and they were a breath of fresh air on the show. It would be an honour to stay at their place. They absolutely deserved to win this competition, 100%. I loved this couple!

Paul & Lynnie made me feel like royalty, even though I was there to clean the carpets. They’re such a delightful couple. The house itself is truly wonderful, and the carpets were spotless when I arrived, hopefully even cleaner by the time I left. It’s the finest B&B I’ve ever been asked to provide my carpet cleaning service for. Like the other TripAdvisor guests who’ve enjoyed a stay, I’d love to bring the missus here. Thank you both, it was a pleasure doing the work for you.

Paul and Lynn were so welcoming to us and our daughter, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Lynn's hearty breakfast was fantastic, though there’s also a good selection of cereals if that feels like too much. We’d been looking for a family friendly B&B and found Higher Gitcombe. It was clean and tidy, and worked well with small children. Our daughter had her own room just across the way, close enough that she could see us.

My partner surprised me with a birthday night away, and it turned out to be such a lovely stay. Lynnie and Paul were perfect hosts. The B&B sits in peaceful grounds, with only the occasional owl to hear, much nicer than the traffic outside my house. Breakfast was amazing, and nothing was too much trouble.
