The room was good quality for the price, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I also made good use of the free pool before the relaxed 11am checkout. It’s handy for Western General Hospital, and buses run into the city centre. The only downside was limited room service, which had stopped before its advertised 9.30pm finish.

We had such a brilliant hen weekend here. The 80s/90s party night was a hit: great DJ and playlist, easy to request songs, and the dance floor stayed busy all night. The DJ probably enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed the night! There’s free parking with plenty of spaces, and getting into town was easy by taxi. The bus stop right outside is handy too. The hotel itself looks even better in person than in the online photos, with lovely decor, a huge bar and a spacious reception. Having a Starbucks was a real bonus. Our rooms were spotless, with massive, comfy beds. We ate at the hotel several times and loved the food: the Friday party food was great, breakfast had a huge and plentiful buffet, and there were loads of good dinner choices. My burger was outstanding, and food and drink prices felt very reasonable for a hotel. Every staff member we met was friendly and efficient. The breakfast waiter deserves a special mention for singing, joking and keeping the guests laughing while he worked. We had an amazing time, and I’d happily come back, perhaps to try the pool next time. I’d recommend it for groups, couples and celebrations.

The breakfast was delicious, and it’s worth adding it to the room booking. Buses from beside the hotel reach the city centre in about 20 minutes, and you can buy tickets online through the app. The hotel was clean and modern, and the staff were professional and courteous. Ellie at reception was especially lovely, greeting us with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. We’ll be back!

I’ve stayed twice in the last two months, and I’d call it good enough, though perhaps a bit pricey for what you get. The rooms were spotless and cosy, and everyone I dealt with was super friendly and helpful. There were a few little things that didn’t feel in keeping with a four-star hotel: one pillowcase was badly marked and should’ve been discarded, and room service brought food that wasn’t quite what I’d ordered. Small niggles, but they did add up.

The Starbucks team are a perfect fit for The Village. I think the names were Rup and Anthony, and Rup’s porridge is amazing. Thanks also to housekeeping and the lovely, efficient Reception team. Sorry I didn’t get your names this time, but you’re all brilliant, and you recognized us on arrival. It feels really personal. Jack, you keep flourishing, thank you. Always a great stay when I’m in Edinburgh. See you all again soon.
