We’d stay again in a heartbeat. Irene and her team are lovely, and communication before booking was easy. They were quick to respond and professional. The prices are very reasonable and great value for an expensive city like Edinburgh. After a long day sightseeing, it was lovely to come back to this quiet oasis. Sonas Guest House is just a short bus ride or walk from the middle of town, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished, with really comfy beds and a choice of pillows, from fat and hard to flat and soft. Tea and coffee supplies, a kettle, cups and condiments are in the room. Each day they leave a breakfast bag with porridge pots, juice, oat bars and packaged breakfast bread. There’s a handy laminated booklet in every room with nearby restaurant suggestions, laundry facilities and grocery stores.

We really liked the location, a little away from the city bustle, with a few nice breakfast cafés a short walk away and dinner restaurants about 10 min on foot. Buses to the centre come all the time, take about 10 -15 min, and the stop is only a few minutes away. The room was very cute, with big, beautiful windows and a large, comfortable bed. The hosts were lovely and helped us sort out a problem we’d made for ourselves. Check-in was easy, and they could store our luggage if we wanted since our flight home wasn’t until the evening. We loved staying here.

The quiet neighbourhood is handy, with a bus stop 2min away or a 20min walk to the old town. For an expensive city like Edinburgh, Sonas is probably the best place to stay. The cozy, comfortable rooms felt like my grandma’s house. They leave an unexpected breakfast bag at your door each day and offer room service. They also recommend good places to eat around town. I’d definitely stay again ❤️

The staff were cheerful and helped us with logistics. Buses run very frequently on the adjoining street and get you into the centre quickly, or it’s about a 25 minute walk. Nearby coffee shops and pubs are a short walk away. Sonas Guest house is a delightful, comfortable place about 1 mile from the centre along the Royal Mile. It’s very clean and the rooms are large and comfortable, with beds and pillows that worked well for us. We were on the third floor, which was fine, though there’s no lift. Each morning they offer a breakfast bag with porridge, fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee, enough to cover most needs for a decent breakfast.
