Belgrade Plaza Serviced Apartments

Once you find your way in, it's fine, but the access is really tight, so watch your alloys. Parking is bad: the NCP entrance is on a different road and hard to make sense of. The road layout is terrible, well done Coventry council. The room was clean, though starting to look tired. The beds were hard and not very comfortable. I slept okay, but my wife hated them. The porter slash security guy was excellent.

The apartment was spacious and adequate, if a bit spartan, and the location right in the city centre is fantastic. But the security problem was HORRENDOUS. On two nights in a row, strangers came into our apartment in the middle of the night by mistake, first a drunk woman, then a confused or clueless man. Their keys opened our door without any trouble. They came in noisily, switched on the lights, and woke us, leaving us intensely stressed and anxious. Management ignored my first complaint and did nothing after the first incident, which led directly to it happening again the next night. When I raised it again, I got only a shrug and a dismissive, “Well, sorry, this never happened before.” I had to barricade the door with furniture to feel safe enough to sleep the last night. Absolutely shameful and incredibly disappointing.

We found the apartment horribly smelly and unclean. The king bed was two singles pushed together, and the carpets in the halls leading to the apartment were filthy and smelled bad. There was pubic hair in the bath, and the oven didn't work. They took a security deposit and still haven't returned it. When I tried to sort it out, they denied taking one, even though I had proof from the bank. Very rude and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

The beds are very comfy, the apartments are warm, and they have everything you could need. When something doesn't work, they sort it out straight away. The comfort and area are fantastic, and I'd definitely stay again. They could do with a refresh, though. Some paint and perhaps new couches would help, as the current ones are split in places.
