The Croft Hotel

December 2025 The venue is stunning, and we did have a great wedding day, which is why we’ve still given it a high rating. Amy at the front desk of the Croft was a huge help in the run-up. Without her, we’d have felt pretty overwhelmed by the problems. There were quite a few snags on the day. The bride’s canapés, which we’d been told would be saved, were thrown away, and meals went to the wrong guests, including us. Our surname was misspelled on the place cards, and the father of the bride was introduced by the wrong name. The bride had to keep leaving the room to look for staff because no one was reliably available to help. Some of the things we’d arranged were missed too. The Mr & Mrs game wasn’t announced, guests weren’t told about our personalised word searches, and the PowerPoint showed “battery low” warnings and wasn’t set to loop. Several guests also commented on how extremely high the drink prices were. During planning, communication between the wedding coordinator and other staff felt disconnected. We kept getting different answers from different people, which caused avoidable stress and confusion. Any one of these issues might seem small, but together they affected our day and our experience. We’re sharing this because we expected better organisation, communication, and professionalism for such an important event, not to be negative.

The staff covering the wedding and reception were amazing and really helped make the day special. The hotel has a beautiful setting and a lovely personal feel, and the staff were attentive throughout. I stayed for two nights for a family wedding. My room was basic, but clean and tidy enough. The luxury rooms, including the bridal and honeymoon suites, looked stunning. Would highly recommend.

The ceremony space at The Croft Hotel was warm, cosy, and lovely for an intimate wedding. I recently photographed Clarice and Gregor’s wedding there and had an amazing experience. The rooms have lots of character, especially the bridal room, which works really well for getting ready photos. The wedding managers were kind, organised, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Everything flowed smoothly for me as the photographer, and the staff made the day easy for everyone. I’d happily recommend the venue and hope to work there again.

Every time we work at The Croft Hotel as a vendor, it’s a positive experience. We’ve done lots of different jobs there, from wedding styling and content creating to audio guestbooks and photobooths. Logistically, they’re one of the most professional, well-run venues in the industry.
