We meant to use this as a base for exploring, but ended up spending most of our time unwinding in the garden. The staff were so friendly and the surroundings lovely. It's a clean, comfortable, beautifully presented B&B that welcomes dogs, in a gorgeous part of Wales. Breakfast was amazing, and lunch or dinner can be arranged too. There's a big garden, with birds of prey in an enclosure next door. Highly recommend.

The welcome and service are what made the Dolaucothi Arms stand out for us. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and they really do go the extra mile. The food was delicious, and breakfast had plenty of choice to get the day started. We travel around Wales regularly as a couple, and this has become my favourite place to stay. The room was comfortable and had that home-from-home feel, with everything provided. I'll definitely come back and recommend it to family and friends visiting west Wales.

Estelle took such good care of us at the Dolaucothi Arms, serving us a first class dinner and breakfast. The pies are well worth trying, the curry was really tasty, and there's a good choice of drinks at the bar. We slept like rocks in the very comfortable bedroom. It's also a great base for exploring mid Wales. We had a fabulous stay and hope to come back soon.

The falconry was a real highlight. Adrian is often out with the dogs and birds, and having an owl or falcon perched on your gloved hand is quite something. Our room looked onto the garden and was clean and very comfortable, with an en suite shower. Estelle kept everything running smoothly while turning out super meals, and the bar has a good selection, including pint-size bottles of real ale. With only four bedrooms, the place feels very personal. It's a smashing little spot to relax, enjoy yourself, and let the cares of the world drift away. That's the Dolaucothi Arms!

The riding was stunning, with reservoirs, mountains and winding roads, and hardly any traffic. We were lucky to have sunshine every minute of the trip. We spent two nights here on a biking break, and the rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. I haven't slept that well in ages. The food was delicious and generous, especially the steak and ale pie, which you might want to share. The half-day falconry with Ade was an amazing birthday treat too. Estelle was a perfect hostess and nothing was too much trouble. I'll definitely visit again. Thank you, Adela x
