At dinner, a staff member spoke to me in a degrading, unprofessional way and called me “childish” in front of other people. It was humiliating and felt like bullying. Staff seemed more inclined to make residents feel they were the problem than help resolve issues, which raises serious concerns about how people are treated here. As a transgender/non-binary person, I found this even more distressing. The way I was spoken to created a hostile, uncomfortable environment, and I didn’t feel respected or safe. I’ve made a formal complaint, but others should know how poorly guests and residents may be treated. This was a deeply upsetting and very disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Northampton West. That isn’t the standard I’d expect from a hotel under a major brand, and this kind of staff behaviour shouldn’t be tolerated. Avoid the place if you expect basic respect.

I stopped at your car park to use the BP charger on a long drive toward London and asked to use the toilet, but was refused because it was apparently for guests and staff only. I’m a customer when I’m using the charger, and it’s a long way from there to London by car.

The beds were very comfortable, and I appreciated having a desk and chair. The room had everything we needed, including an iron and a hairdryer that could be used in front of the mirror. There’s a great breakfast area where groups can gather, with a good range of items including gluten-free options.

This was the cleanest Holiday Inn I think I’ve stayed in. The hallways and room were spotless, and the shower was immaculately clean too. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in looking after the place. We were first-time visitors and found reception friendly. Well done to all the staff, especially the housekeepers, for keeping such a big hotel so clean and ahead of the other Holiday Inns I’ve visited.

The interior design looked really good, and the staff were incredibly helpful. We had a great room and a wide choice at the included breakfast. I’d recommend it and had a great stay, but I didn’t give five stars because, as a family of five, we could only get a room with two double beds.
