The staff were friendly and lovely, but the changing rooms were in a poor state. The women’s area looked dated and unclean, with mould, wet towels, hair on the walls and doors, toilet paper on the floor and no hand soap. While using the steam room, another guest warned me about flies in the shower and said she’d been bitten, which was alarming. I’d visited after seeing the renovation photos online and was disappointed to learn the work had only covered the swimming pool ceiling. I’m sharing this so people aren’t misled by the pictures, and hope the facilities improve.

The manager took my breakfast order and had it prepared separately in the kitchen, which meant a lower risk of cross-contamination for me as a coeliac. Everyone working there was helpful and friendly. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the pool was great. I’d happily stay again.

We had a very comfortable suite with a fabulous en-suite bathroom, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely. We visited just before Christmas, so the hotel looked really festive. We’re going back in early February. Highly recommend it.

The restaurant staff repeatedly failed to bring the drinks I ordered, twice asking for Pepsi and once for water. I reminded them politely, but they seemed to forget or ignore me while serving other tables promptly. The building and rooms also fell well short of the glamorous impression given by the online photos. There were signs of neglect throughout, including a damaged, unsafe restaurant entrance floor, visibly dirty carpets in the rooms and corridors, and worn doors, furniture and skirting areas. These seemed like more than small cosmetic flaws. I can’t say for sure, but it gave me the impression the hotel may be struggling financially and cutting back on cleaning, maintenance or staff training. For somewhere presented as high quality, that’s unacceptable. I’ve asked my employer to cancel my next two stays. I hope management takes this seriously, makes essential repairs and provides proper staff training. Until then, I can’t recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or professional stay.
