Tyger Inn Derby

We came as a family of three after visiting Drayton manor and the safari park, and ended up adding another night because we weren't ready to go home after such a lovely break. We'd been unsure because the reviews were mixed, but this was probably our best stay in a long time. The receptionist was lovely and let us look at the room before paying. He put us at the back, so it was completely quiet despite what we'd read. The room was great, clean, and had refreshments. The staff were lovely too. The price was amazing, even for a Saturday night, and we'd definitely come back. Highly recommend it.

Tyger Inn is a lovely place to stay in Derby and really good value for the money. I highly recommend it, and I'll stay here again on my next trip.

I only booked because it was a short walk from the family wedding venue. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the room had a strange smell and even the bedding smelled musty. There was a hole in the bath where the handle had fallen off, and the rooms badly need updating. The reception was unmanned. It's a very basic place, if you can even call it a hotel.

We booked four rooms for a night while a group of friends attended a local event. Two rooms near the staff area smelled as if someone had been chain smoking there for years. My room had mould and dirt everywhere. When we complained at reception, he didn't come to inspect it and just handed me some air freshener. He asked us to send feedback directly, but we've tried several times and got no reply. We didn't want to miss our friend's birthday event, so we cleaned the rooms ourselves before staying. Unbelievable. Please avoid.
