The hot tub had only been emptied and refilled, not properly cleaned. After three days of use, the water was foamy and scum had built up around the top. By day four, there was limescale over the floor and seats. It needs proper daily care, including water testing and adjusting the pH, alkalinity and chlorine with the right chemicals. An unhealthy hot tub can expose people to nasty things.
