The hosts were really lovely, and the room was large. The shower room was just average and might feel cramped if you're on the larger side. They kindly drove us into town and shared a few pointers. I'd definitely recommend it for a budget stay in Derry.

The room was cold, with only an oil heater, and the window had duct tape over it to keep out damp. There was already some mould starting around the bathroom window. Inside, the entrance light had no bulb, the bathroom light worked only sometimes, and the toilet cistern was cracked. There wasn't even a waste paper basket. Breakfast, supposedly affected by COVID, meant four jam doughnuts, two muffins, a carton of orange juice and a few bottles of water. For tea and coffee there were just a couple of sachets and a few tea bags. This really felt like a case of Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware in Latin). It's the first poor review I've ever left for a place I've stayed, and I hope it's my last.

The lovely family running the place made it a great stay. I enjoyed the room, the breakfast and the atmosphere, and there was a history lesson to take in too. This was my second visit. It would've been my third, but a storm cancelled my previous trip.

The place has a warm feel, and the accommodation was nice, but the hosts really made it for us. They were so helpful and supportive. We loved the atmosphere and will definitely book again. You've got a new fan. Thanks, guys!
