After walking around devils bridge, we stopped in for a Sunday roast and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and attentive, the prices were reasonable, and it was the best food we had on our visit to Wales.

Will, Osian “Fish” and Willow deserve a special mention for making our three-night stay so memorable. Everyone, from the owner to the rest of the staff, was welcoming and friendly from arrival through to departure. We had B&B and an evening meal, and it was well worth it. There’s lots to do nearby, with the train station only a few minutes’ walk away for the steam train to Aberystwyth or the Devil’ Bridge walk. I’ll definitely try the sister hotel in Dolgellau soon.

We had lunch here. The venue is beautiful and relaxed, though a bit tight on space if you want to sit down for a drink. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, and the simple-looking menu had some appealing choices. It was nice to see Welsh language used too. The brunch dishes felt more like lunch options to me. Our food arrived promptly, but was a little below par. Our coffees were cold, though replacements were offered and the issue was easily sorted. We also found a bit of plastic wrapper in one sandwich. The chef apologised and it was handled well, so nothing major, but the kitchen needs to get the basics right. The place has a beautiful setting and could have people queuing out the door. I know it’s not easy to find good staff in the middle of mid Wales. Good luck.

The food was excellent, and the drinks list had plenty of choice. The place is beautiful inside and out, with a lovely setting, and it felt worth the money for that touch of luxury. Definitely worth a visit, or even just a stop on the way by.

There was a bit of a crowd, but the menu was interesting and seemed to offer something for everyone. We thought the food was very good for its presentation, portion size and quality, and the service was excellent. It was our first visit, and we’re looking forward to coming back. The location and views are beautiful, and it’s well worth visiting.
