The only small disappointment was that the four of us booked because we understood from the description and photos that there'd be a shared lounge area. Strode was super helpful and accommodating, though, and it wouldn't put us off booking again. I've already recommended Merchant39 to others. At this price, it's easily the cleanest place I've stayed, with the best quality furnishings and the most carefully done rooms. Probably ever. You won't find a cleaner bathroom.

My friend and I had the second-floor setup with two bedrooms and an external bathroom just for us. The bedroom was clean and tastefully designed, with lots of lovely little extras and a mini fridge. The location worked perfectly for what we needed, and there was plenty of parking nearby.

The hosts were really friendly and helpful, and the little kitchen had everything we might need if we didn't want to eat out. There are only five rooms. Our room was warm, spotless and nicely decorated, with an en-suite that was very clean and stocked with Scottish Soap Company soaps and shampoo. The little Krups coffee machine came with complimentary coffee, milk and water. And the bed was the most comfortable I've EVER slept in! It's a lovely boutique hotel, two minutes from the beach and a 12-minute walk down to the main shopping area. I'd definitely choose it over a big chain and stay again if we return to Folkestone. Just a heads-up, there are stairs to the rooms, so it isn't suitable for people with mobility issues.

The bed was really comfortable and the place stylishly decorated. Every facility had been thought of, right down to a luggage mat, which I'd never had before! It's about a 10-minute walk to the harbour. We had a comfortable stay, highly recommend it, and will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

What a lovely surprise. The room was small, but so inspiring and nice, and still comfortable, with a great bed. The host was fantastic, and next door there’s a lovely place to get coffee and breakfast. If you want to know what hospitality feels like, book a room here. Thank you 🙏
