The location is handy, with the beach and shops close by, and there’s free WiFi and comfortable beds. From the room window, though, we could see a dead seagull on the roof, which wasn’t a pleasant sight. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, but there are places to eat nearby. In the bathroom, the tub had no plug so I couldn’t take a bath, only a shower; the sink tap had no hot water, and there was a large crack at the base of the toilet. Those things need fixing.

We found the rooms clean and nicely arranged, with towels, tea and coffee, a kettle, hairdryer, and a full-size bath with shower. The staff were friendly and the price was good. We stayed for two nights, and the sea and town were just moments away.

Julius at reception was amazing, kind, and incredibly helpful. The staff were all lovely, and he clearly runs the hotel well. Our room was beautiful, with a direct view of the beach, and the hotel sits in a lovely spot. The price for that view was amazing, so I really recommend staying here in south cliff.

I book this quirky old hotel every year because I love it here. This time I had a single room for just under £40, and it was a cute, cosy little space that exceeded what I expected. Getting a sea view as well literally made my day. Thanks to the staff ❤️

For 30 quid a night I was a little nervous, but choosing this place worked out really well. My room had quality bedding and a lovely view over the town, and it was the most spotlessly clean hotel room I’ve had in years. The decor is, kindly put, tired. Still, it gets five stars from me for value, cleanliness, and friendly service. The staff were lovely too.
