Burlington Hotel, Best Western Premier Collection

All the staff were pleasant and helpful, and happy to chat. We upgraded to the four poster bedroom when we arrived and were very pleased with it. The room was spacious and gracious, with a lovely bathroom and a nice view in the morning. Breakfast was nicely presented, a good portion, and cooked to order. I highly recommend this well located, well presented hotel.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and our room was outstanding, with a spacious shower room and the biggest bedroom we've stayed in outside Canada and the USA. Breakfast was fresh and lovely, and dinner was superb. It's a beautiful hotel full of great features and pictures, with a masterpiece of a staircase. A handy base for Folkstone, sandgate, Hythe and Dymchurch, close to the coastal path and views.

The rest of the hotel was lovely, and our room was beautiful, clean and tidy. Breakfast was uncomfortable, though. We booked for 9am and arrived three minutes early, but the woman by the door complained that no table was ready and we would have to wait. There aren't many tables, to be fair, but she was rushing around telling staff what to do, wiping her head and shaking it. It made us feel like we'd come too early, which isn't how I want to feel when going for a meal.

It's a beautiful building, and the room was very comfortable in a great location. But £154 with just two sachets of milk between two people felt poor value. Breakfast wasn't included, which seemed steep for what you got. Even a basic continental breakfast would have been welcome, especially since making coffee in the room was poor.
