Waverley Inn

The receptionists were very welcoming, and the free breakfast was basic but perfectly fine for what we needed. We came up from Ayrshire for the football, since the place is more or less beside Riss County's stadium and there isn't much else to do in Dingwall. After reading the reviews, we expected the worst, but the room was better than we'd feared. It's very basic, though it suited our trip, the beds were comfortable enough and the TV worked. There was quite a lot of mould in the bathroom. A notice said they knew about the poor conditions and were working on improvements, so hopefully that gets sorted soon.

Booked by my work for one night while I was doing a dig in the area. The lady was nice, but opening the room door brought a foul, damp smell. Mould everywhere and no toiletries at all. The included “breakfast” was cereal and toast, apparently because it was winter.

It was affordable, thankfully, but still not worth the money. The place felt gloomy and deserted, and the staff weren't welcoming. It's old, worn out and poorly maintained. After several years of travel, I think this is the worst hotel I've stayed in, and we didn't feel safe there at all.

At first the room seemed clean, but there were exposed wires above the bed and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, and seemed to be used mostly by contractors. After reading the bed bug reviews and getting two bites on my neck, I slept in my clothes!
