Hollyhocks Cottage

We’ve already started planning another stay at Hollyhocks. This summer was our third year there, and it’s become a lovely, cosy place to return to. The kitchen and living room have plenty of space, the bedrooms are comfortable, and there’s a nice spot out front for a meal or a quiet read. It’s tucked away from the main road, so it’s peaceful, while Docking has a late-opening Spar and a very popular fish and chip shop. There’s lots to see within a short drive, including Brancaster beach, about ten minutes away, Hunstanton Sea Life Centre, Bircham Mill and Snettisham Park Farm. The cottage has everything you need, and both the kids and adults enjoy staying there. We can’t recommend it enough. JC

We start unwinding as soon as we arrive at Hollyhocks. It’s in a peaceful corner of a small, unspoilt village, with a pub/restaurant, excellent fish and chip shop and well-stocked convenience store/Post Office nearby. There are also plenty of places of interest within reach. My wife Vicky and I have stayed here enough for the cottage to feel familiar, but it still gives us a homely welcome. It’s comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Our latest visit was 21st-28th May 2018, and we hope to come back soon.

The location is great, and Hollyhocks was cosy, comfortable and very well appointed. We’ve just had a lovely seven-night stay and enjoyed it enough to book another one for later this year.

There’s a small outdoor space at the front where you can read or watch the friendly robins and sparrows, and having your own parking space on the property is handy. The countryside around Hollyhocks is lovely, with Norfolk hares, deer and pheasants to spot on an early walk. A short drive gets you to some of the UK’s best beaches, and there are so many places to visit. For our family of four, everything worked well, from the owner’s friendly, helpful communication before arrival to the easy checkout. The cottage is in Docking, close to all the places we wanted to see in Norfolk. It was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed, plus a bit more. The kitchen is well stocked with good appliances, the living room is comfy, the two bedrooms are a good size with quality bedding, and the bathroom was spotless with an excellent shower. It’s a lovely, quiet, safe and well-cared-for place for a family, couple or solo traveller. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. The owner clearly puts in a lot of effort to make guests’ stays excellent.
