The room was airy, clean and well equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was good, and it was only a short walk to the centre. The price was very reasonable too. The art deco look is amazing, like stepping onto a film set.

The food is what really sets this hotel apart. Breakfast has a good spread, and dinner is excellent. The menu isn't huge, and during my five-week stay the choices started to feel limited, though daily specials helped mix things up. The bar and restaurant were both a bit chilly, so bring a thick cardigan. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a fabulous 1920s Art Deco hotel in a Doncaster suburb, with modern facilities: good WiFi, contemporary bathrooms with separate walk-in showers, and a very comfortable bed.

Marcin was the standout for us. He made delicious cocktails both nights, then, after our second evening out, took the time to show us the hotel's ballrooms and explain its history, founder and owners. You can tell he cares about his role, and he made the stay memorable. The reception staff were lovely too. The restaurant had lovely food, including a tasty vegan pie, and the bar stays open 24 hours for guests. We were surprised to find such a posh hotel in Doncaster. The lobby, bar, restaurant and surrounding rooms have a quirky, distinctive look. Our room was spacious, with nice touches like the tissue box and desk lamp. The bathroom had a powerful hot shower and a separate bath. There was one problem: both nights, a loud, irritating buzz woke us around 3am and lasted about ten minutes. We don't know what caused it. We mentioned it to reception when checking out, and they said they'd look into it.

The hotel is beautiful inside and the staff are very friendly. I booked two rooms, but my friend fell ill and couldn't come. Although I hadn't cancelled ahead of time, they didn't charge me for the unused room. I'll stay at the Earl of Doncaster whenever I'm in Doncaster.

I've been staying here for 15 years, though my previous visit was eight years ago. It was lovely to find Andy, Diane, Sophie and Melissa still working here, sorry if I've missed anyone. They even asked about my family after all this time. The hotel is spotless, and the people are just lovely and friendly. Thanks for a great stay, the room was great too.
