The Sunday lunch was hot and delicious, easily the best hotel or pub roast I’ve had in a long while. The wine selection was good and reasonably priced, and the staff got the balance right between being attentive and giving us space. We arrived early, so had a quick drink in the cosy bar while waiting for our table. The restaurant was bright and airy. I’ll definitely drop in again if I’m in Dorchester.

The room and bathroom were much more spacious than we expected, and the bathroom had a lovely modern shower. Dinner and the included breakfast were incredible, with plenty of choice, free-range eggs and local ingredients. The wines and menu felt thoughtfully chosen. The decor throughout struck a nice balance between modern and charming, and there’s on-site parking, which made it easy to break up a long journey with an overnight stop. The staff were welcoming and impressively efficient, from the concierge to check-in. We arrived early and our room was already ready, so getting settled was seamless. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in England in a long time, far better than London hotels at more than twice the price. We’re looking forward to coming back.

Everything went well, from booking in through food and drinks. The staff were great, the rooms were clean, a decent size and comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. We had the Sunday roasts and were really impressed.

Our community group meets here, and the little room we use is cosy and lovely for getting together. The bar area is really nice too. Everyone’s friendly and accommodating, and the food and drinks I’ve had there have been good. Nothing to fault.
