We only expected a clean room where we could sleep for a few hours after the ferry, but the stay was great. It's just a few minutes from the ferry port, and the staff gave us a friendly welcome when we arrived after midnight. The room was spacious and clean, the beds comfortable, and we slept really well. Breakfast was freshly made, unlimited, and a great English breakfast, with everything kept topped up. Excellent value for money. We enjoyed our short stay.

For an early ferry, the location worked perfectly, and there was plenty of parking for only £5. The automated check-in was fine until it failed to activate the room key. After hauling our things up three flights because the lift was broken, we had to come back down to find a staff member. The room was clean and adequate. There was a lot of road noise, but for the price it was a great stay overall.

The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. The shower had enough pressure for a good wash, and its hottest setting wasn't scalding. There's no air conditioning, as described, but the heating is easy to adjust using the room temperature display. The tea tray is basic: two tea bags, two coffees, sugar, sweeteners and four portions of semi-skimmed milk. That's all. The TV gets only 15 channels, and none are news channels. I didn't try dinner or breakfast, which cost extra, so can't comment on those. I did have a cappuccino at the bar, and appreciated that they warmed the cup with hot water first. The staff were polite and helpful, though not very sociable, just doing what they needed to do. WiFi and parking were both £5 a day. Booking ahead seemed to get cheaper rates, reasonable for this scenic spot. It was a pleasant enough stay.

I use this place as a base for the nearby hiking trails, and the ferry makes it incredibly convenient too. I absolutely love it. The photo is from a standard room with “no view”; I've paid extra before for a lovely marina and sea view, but the standard view is beautiful as well, so the upgrade really isn't needed. I paid for an 11 am early check-in and they let me in at 10:30, which was even better. The staff are lovely, and housekeeping always leaves the room spotless. I'd give it ten stars if I could! 💜💜💜

The views over the Channel were lovely, and the room had a kettle with instant coffee, though no fridge. It's a good budget hotel, with warm, helpful people at both Reception and the Restaurant. Our room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly roomy, with what we needed for a short stay. The bed and mattress were a good size and comfortable. Water pressure and temperature were fine, but the shower could be better: the head is quite small, and the shower over the bath with a curtain doesn't cover much. With the windows open, it can get a bit noisy early in the morning as departing guests wheel their luggage over the brick pavement.
