Premier Inn Dover - A20

Breakfast was a highlight. It was beautifully plated and more generous than I expected. They asked whether I wanted single or double portions of everything, and of course I chose doubles. At £10.99 on top of a £53 room, it’s a reasonable price, though better attention to detail and more consistent service would make it better value. No one offered tea, toast, or juice, so guests had to get those themselves. The room was spacious, with a very large, nearly American-comfortable bed. The roughly 25-inch television was fine for a short stay, and the tea and coffee supplies worked, though it would’ve been nice to have Earl Grey or brown sugar for morning coffee. The bathroom was a serious concern. There were no safety mats, so I had to use a towel, and there weren’t enough grab rails. That could be risky for people with mobility issues or families with young children, so guests should take care. The hotel has real potential and some genuine comforts, but it falls short of what it could easily be.

After a long, hard day of work and travelling, Melissa was a ray of sunshine. She was so helpful and kind, and it was lovely to get that sort of service. The room was great, and she promptly booked a table for me for both dinner and breakfast. Thanks, Melissa 🙌🏼

The Beefeater next door was excellent for a meal. The hotel itself is no frills, but the shower was lovely and hot, and the towels were soft and clean. The bed was on the hard side. It’s a great place to stay overnight for the Eurotunnel.

Melissa is an excellent receptionist. Her helpfulness and positive attitude have impressed me every time, and she makes me feel welcome while handling requests efficiently. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and it’s easy to get around from this location. A great experience.
