We had a lovely Christmas meal with my 90-year-old godmother, who lives nearby. The staff knew her by name and welcomed her so warmly, as though she were their own godmother. The table looked fabulous, with crackers and decorations. The food was gorgeous. I had salmon, and although I was too full for the cheese and biscuits, they kindly packed them for me to take away. My husband and godmother both loved their meals. The bill was very reasonable, though we're used to ridiculous prices near London. I'd happily return!

The food was five-star and fairly priced, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We stayed two nights with six friends, and we all had lovely rooms that were clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. Nothing was a problem. We're hoping to book again next year.

A relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and food made with care, natural ingredients and attention to flavour. The prices are reasonable too. This feels like an authentic English pub and is well worth a special trip, or a stop before or after the ferry.

We had Boxing Day dinner as a group of seven. The food and service were good, and the meal was above average. Nothing really made me want to return, though perhaps the 25-minute drive from my house plays a part, which obviously isn't their fault. All in all, no complaints 👍

The chips were a big hit with our daughter, and rightly so, they were really tasty! We came as a family of three and had a lovely visit. The food was amazing, the staff were really friendly, and we haven't left a pub this pleased with our visit in a long time. We'll definitely be back.
