For the price, it was good value and I’d stay again if work brings me back. The room was warm and clean. They warn you about the noise beforehand, and you can definitely hear it, but it stopped around half 12.

The location made getting around Downham Market really easy. Tesco and the other town centre amenities are about a two-minute walk away, and the walk to my dad’s took 10 minutes. He’s 96, and I was there to see him after seven years. I could also walk from the train station to the accommodation in 15 minutes. I stayed four nights with my little Yorkshire terrier, who was well behaved, and was pleasantly surprised since I’d never stayed in a pub before. The room was clean and fine for my needs, with an ensuite shower and toilet, a small fridge, television, and free Internet. Staff were friendly, approachable, and professional. I really enjoyed the stay and look forward to coming back. I’d highly recommend it.

The room heater didn’t work during our two-night stay. The bathroom shower door was filthy, black dust covered the extractor fan, and there were cobwebs in the ceiling corners. The rooms need painting, and the carpet stains need removing.

The pub is lively and serves a nice pint of ale. I stayed two nights in one of the newly refurbished guest rooms while I needed somewhere to crash before a house move. The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and the value was unbeatable. I’d absolutely stay again.
